Websites

If you're looking to create a website that integrates your social media strategy and blog, I recommend either Wordpress or Weebly. Both allow you to update your site from any computer with internet access and they have plenty of plug-ins to help your business. This site is built on Weebly, a super-easy platform for the DIY set. Because I use it and love it, I am an affiliate.

Online Marketing

One of the best source for all things online marketing related is Copyblogger. Check it out. You'll be glad you did.

Looking for a little advice on selecting an email marketing service? The 2011 Email Marketing Services Review is the place to go! It compares a whole slew of options.

Do you just want to know a few of my favorite email marketing services? I'm a big fan of MailChimp, which is free so long as you have fewer than 2,000 subscribers, and VerticalResponse, which is always free for nonprofit organizations.

Facebook

Do you want to use Facebook for more than just keeping in touch with people you knew in High School? The Ultimate Guide to Facebook Marketing will get you started on the right path.

Twitter

I know what you're thinking. But I promise you won't be tweeting alone in the woods! Twitter is a great way to make new connections and - for many businesses - it is a great way to build a client base. Check out The Ultimate Guide to Twitter Marketing, sign up, start listening in on the conversation and then drop me a line at JoppaThoughts!

Press Release Distribution

If you want to get your news releases out into the world, drive traffic to your website and increase your search engine optimization, check out PRlog. This free news distribution service even allows you to set up a company profile.

Royalty Free Stock Images

There are a number of places to get images that you can use for your website, blog or other materials. I often use Creative Commons, which provides music, video, images and other creative stuff that you can use for commercial purposes or even change around, so long as you abide by the terms of an open license. Another great option for royalty free stock images is Fotolia. You do have to purchase the rights, but the prices are very reasonable.

On occasion, if I use a product or service and really believe in it, I will enter into an affiliate relationship. What's an affiliate? As an affiliate, I get a small commission each time someone clicks on my affiliate link and makes a purchase. It doesn't cost you any extra, but it does give me a little pocket money! Not sure about the whole affiliate thing? No worries. You don't have to use the affiliate link. Oh, and I will always disclose my affiliate relationships. Always.
